Spring Hill ranks third in the top nine high growth areas in the United States, according to a recent study. Gadberry Group, a research firm based in Little Rock, Ark., announced its list of 2009’s nine most notable high-growth areas.
The newly released study takes into account the growth of the Spring Hill housing market from 2000 to 2009. “Households in Spring Hill increased by 183 percent, from 4,169 in 2000 to 11,814 households in 2009,” the study noted.
It placed Spring Hill in the No. 2 position nationally for the average household income growth compared to other U.S. cities.
“Average household income growth from 2000 to 2009 put Spring Hill number two in this category, increasing from $64,256 to $92,374, while median income rose from $52,464 in 2000 to $74,648,” according to the Gadberry Group’s study.
This is good news for the Spring Hill area, in recent months the area has been affected by the closing of the GM plant, which employed a number of people in the area. Earlier this week, the area received even more good news… the possibility of the GM plant re-opening to meet the high demand for some car models.
